I recently completed my PhD in Linguistics at University of Canterbury, New Zealand. My dissertation looks at the formation of a new urban dialect in Hohhot, China. I'm especially interested in socio-phonetics, language contact, attitudes, and I also have a passion in quantitative methods.  I did my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Watson and Dr. Lynn Clark.

Hohhot is where I grew up. It is an interesting city, with multiple cultures, complicated linguistic situation, and social conflicts between different speech communities...
